BECOMING MILK MINDED

OUR STORY

Milk Minded Our Story

As a NICU nurse and lactation consultant, I have spent years guiding mothers through their breastfeeding and pumping journeys. I have seen their struggles firsthand—the exhaustion, the frustration, the endless cycle of cleaning pump parts. But it wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I truly understood just how relentless it is. Every 2-3 hours, day and night, I found myself at the sink, scrubbing and sanitizing, wondering how something so essential could feel like so much work.

Returning to work after maternity leave only made things harder. My workplace didn't have proper accommodations, which meant I had to clean my pump parts in the public sinks—which as many of you know is far from ideal. It became clear why so many mothers give up on pumping after going back to work.  The options for on-the-go cleaning were either impractical or unreliable. Wipes left behind residue, and carrying a bulky basin wasn’t realistic, especially in places without proper facilities.

Frustrated but determined, I started brainstorming. There had to be a better way. I experimented, tested, and refined ideas with one clear goal in mind: to create a solution that made washing pump parts quick, simple, and discreet—something mothers could use confidently, no matter where they were. Through trial and error, I developed a product that does just that. A compact, easy to use, breast pump cleaning kit.

More than anything, I want this to be a tool that empowers mothers—helping them continue their breastfeeding journey without unnecessary obstacles. Because every mother deserves support.
